Feline van der Kamp (Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, 1996) is the ex-aequo winner of the 2022 Marianne Van Vyve Prize. During her Master year, Feline carefully dissected her fascination for lifeguards, exploring the powerful memories she had of visiting indoor swimming pools as a child. She started out with a fairly literal lifeguard figure on canvas but soon found herself focusing entirely on painterly aspects, translating emotions and feelings through colour, composition, scale and layering, moving towards abstraction in the process.
Since graduating, Feline has had her first solo show at Galerie Verbeeck-Van Dyck in Antwerp.
